Acceptance: a new short story in Toronto Journal

Well, team, I've got another bit of good news to report. I have had a new short story accepted for publication in the literary magazine Toronto Journal. The piece is called "Addiction" and will appear in the magazine's December issue.

The publication will include an audio recording of me reading the story, and there will also be a launch party here in Toronto for the issue itself. It will be happening at 7 pm on Thursday, December 10 at Book People, 1640 Queen St West. If you're in Toronto and can come out for this event, I'd love to see you there.

"Addiction" is one of those short stories that I've been writing and rewriting and revising for many years now, and I'm so excited to have finally gotten it into a state where someone is excited to publish it. It's tale about a trouble young single mom who travels to the States to clean out the apartment of her estranged brother after he dies, and it explores the respective secrets that these characters have kept from the people they're supposed to care about the most. I'm looking forward to having this piece out into the world - I hope you enjoy it!
